I bought this Jacket for use at a summer camp in New Jersey with the view to use it for showery day hikes when I return to Ireland.
I was hoping to get a jacket that folded down small enough to shove in my camera bag, was light enough to not think about but that was also waterproof and breathable. The last two were the most important as NJ can be very humid whilst also being very wet. I have found it has excelled in both categories. It is the most breathable waterproof I have ever owned and I still have not had any leaks despite some days of constant downpours.
One massive plus is that the material feels very nice even when only wearing a t shirt underneath, unlike a lot of other waterproofs.
It is so light it is almost unbelievable and it folds down to a reasonably small size, maybe just larger than my clenched fist.
It only has one pocket which is annoying at times but it is well placed on the chest for day hikes.
The hood is rather large which leaves room for a helmet but can feel too roomy if not adjust properly, but gives complete coverage and protection from rain.
Finally, the jacket looks great. It's very stylish and comes in nice colours.
Overall I'm very happy with this jacket as a light, waterproof and breathable outer layer to carry about in case of showers. It's perfect to throw in the bag on days when showers are a maybe, because it's so light you won't be annoyed you brought it even if it doesn't rain.
