Mountain Hardwear Quasar Lite Jacket
The Quasar Lite Jacket is Mountain Hardwear’s lightest and most packable alpine hardshell. In fact, it's so functional it's remained pretty much unchanged for 2016. Made from 2.5-layer Dry Q Elite, it's lightweight, but also durable, breathable and waterproof, with minimalist features that make it ideal for alpine climbing, hiking and mountaineering. As one of Mountain Hardwear's most well-articulated jackets, it's cut to allow a superior range of mobility so you stay dry and comfortable, even in the most awkward of positions. Other features include two harness and pack-friendly side pockets which double as core vents and a three-way adjustable hood with a wire brim, making the Quasar Lite the perfect emergency jacket for day-long alpine missions.

2.5 Layer Dry Q. Elite
Dry Q. Elite is Mountain Hardwear’s premium waterproofing and breathability technology. It is a layered fabric, with a similar structure to Gore-Tex Active fabric, but it works by being constantly active, breathing even when the wearer is standing still. Usually, waterproof and breathable materials don’t start breathing until you’re already sweating, but fabrics with Dry Q. Elite technology start breathing as soon as you put them on, which helps to regulate your body temperature quickly when you do start working hard. The 2.5 layer part means the waterproof and breathable membrane is sandwiched between a tough but light outer layer and a super-light inner liner that protects the membrane.
