Beal Stinger lll 9.4mm Unicore Golden Dry
The Beal Stinger lll Golden Dry Climbing Rope is a thin single rope designed for high level sport climbing. Thanks to its skinny (for a single rope) diameter The Beal Stinger lll is super-lightweight, as well as easy-to-handle and smooth. A low impact force and high fall rating make it ideal for redpointing and sending new projects, while Unicore treatment improves the longevity, durability, handling and safety. Phew. Elsewhere, the Stinger lll features Beal's Golden dry treatment, meaning the sheath and core are protected from water, ice and dirt, making it the ideal rope for gnarly sport routes, whatever the weather.
|WEIGHT PER METRE||59g|
|TOTAL WEIGHT||4.13 kg (70m)|
If you want a rope that will work in winter conditions, then this is the option for you. Golden Dry features all the same treatment characteristics of Beal's Dry Cover but has an extra treatment on each filament of the inner core strands, further enhancing its resistance to water and ice, greatly improving the rope's handling qualities in wet/cold conditions and extending the lifespan of the rope.
Beal's Unicore treatment is where the sheath and core of the rope are uniquely bonded together. This means that the rope can still be used, even if the sheath gets cut, and makes it much safer in mountain environments. It also improves the durability, handling and longevity of the rope.
Date of Manufacture
All ropes have a date of manufacture printed on the sheath. If you'd like to know the date of manufacture of a specific rope, feel free to ask a Gear Geek via the chat window.
1 Rope 1 Tree
Beal takes their environmental responsibility seriously. They divide their efforts between two main approaches. Firstly, Beal run an exceptional programme, in which they plant a tree for every single dynamic rope purchased. They’ve been doing this since 2007 and have no plans to stop! Secondly, Beal organises the recycling of ropes when they reach the end of their life. Every Beal rope is recyclable, and anyone can send their used Beal rope to one of their recycling departments, where they are broken down and reused. Top work Beal!
