An astonishing process, bonding rope sheath and core without affecting the rope's suppleness.
If the sheath is cut or torn, the core and sheath remain bonded together.
With a standard rope, if the sheath is cut by abrasion over an edge, a frequent occurrence in the mountains, it slides and gathers over some metres.
It then becomes impossible to pass this zone, whether ascending or descending.
Every filament of the sheath and the core of «Golden Dry» ropes is treated with a water repellent chemical before the rope is manufactured. This chemical covering is polymerised at high temperature. The durability of this treatment is given by the polymerisation, but also because of the individual treatment of each filament before the rope is made. A Golden Dry rope is a rope with the core Dry treated, and a sheath of Dry Cover.
Date Of Manufacture
All ropes on the market have their date of manufacture printed on them. If you would like to know the date of manufacture of the rope before you buy please contact a staff member via the chat window.
1 Rope 1 Tree
Beal takes their environmental responsibility seriously. They divide their efforts between two main approaches. Firstly, Beal run an exceptional programme, in which they plant a tree for every single dynamic rope purchased. They’ve been doing this since 2007 and have no plans to stop! Secondly, Beal organises the recycling of ropes when they reach the end of their life. Every Beal rope is recyclable, and anyone can send their used Beal rope to one of their recycling departments, where they are broken down and reused. Top work Beal! Works great on the DMM pivot (preferably not on the smallest belay biner) in both guide and regular mode. Supricingly sturdy and durable. The rope has i.m.o. struck the balance between stiff/soft perfect in regard to thickness.
My only drawback is the way they come coiled from factory.
