Black Diamond Carbon Compactor Mountaineering Poles
The Black Diamond Carbon Compactor Poles are lightweight ski mountaineering and touring poles that cab be collapsed and deployed in a mere flourish of hand. Utilising Black Diamond’s Z-Pole technology, the Carbon Compactor Poles work like an avalanche probe, held together using super-strong Kevlar fibres. This means they can be simply folded and stashed in or on your pack when you want to swap ‘em out for ice axes. 100% carbon fibre construction makes for a low weight but sturdy shaft, while the Touring grip and strap are designed to shave off the grams while providing plenty of comfort for long tours. If you’re a ski or snowboard mountaineer, with emphasis on the mountaineering part, these are the poles for you.
|WEIGHT||520g (per pair, 120cm)|
|COLLAPSED LENGTH||41.5 cm (16.3 in)|
Z-Pole Rapid Deployment System
Using technology borrowed from Black Diamond’s avalanche probes, the Z-Pole Rapid Deployment System utilises a protected Kevlar cord to securely fasten the three parts of the pole into place in one quick and easy movement. All you need to go is grab the pole grip and the first shaft of the pole and pull, and the three sections will slide into place and lock. Then you just push a button to release and you can fold them away again. Easy.
Carbon fibre is the ideal material to use when making collapsible or adjustable-length poles as it’s super light and mega strong – perfect for extreme mountain conditions.
