The La Sportiva G5 Evo is an ultra technical waterproof boot with an innovative lacing system, high durability, and high-traction sole that make it suitable for high-altitude mountaineering and ice climbing the likes of which found in the Alps.
The La Sportiva G5 Evo utilises the innovative Boe Quick Lacing system that is faster, easier to use, and more effective than traditional laces by smartly adhering to your foot’s natural shape for a totally secure and customised fit, all at the turn of the knob. This system is also much simpler to use with gloves! The Gore-Tex® INFINIUM™ THERMIUM lining increases insulation whilst adding virtually no weight or bulk, giving the G5 Evo exceptional warmth for its size. Extremely durable military-grade Cordura makes up the inner and outer shells for a resilience that will keep your boot alive and kicking (literally) against the most severe and aggressive environments. Its carbon sole is more insulating, the Impact Braking System provides more traction, and the rear Flex Zone allows for greater mobility over rough terrain, making this the perfect shoe for all cold weather activities on snow and ice.

Boa Quick Lacing System
The Boa Closure System is faster, more comfortable, durable, lightweight, easier to use, and provides a tighter, more secure fit than traditional systems. A simple turn of the knob allows for a smooth, even closure with no uneven pressure points and no risk of the system being compromised. This system allows for greater fine-tuning than ever before. Perfect for use in cold temperatures and with hand-restricting gloves.
Impact Brake System
Absorbs negative ground impact, helps traction, and improves downhill grip, increasing braking power by an average of 20% and decreasing impact forces by an average of 20%. The unique position of the sole’s lugs are oriented in opposing and slanted directions, allowing as many of them as possible to come into contact with the ground over a variety of terrains leading to a better distribution of impact forces and increased grip.

Only used them once but so far these boots have been great. I'm a 45 in street shoes, a 45 in Nepal EVOs and 45 in G5s. Perfect fit with a SuperFeet green insole.
