Tenaya Iati Climbing Shoe
Climbing shoe technology has come a long way from that found in the first converse-style high-top rendition. Tenaya are a Spanish brand who specialise in biomechanics and produce highly responsive performance shoes that are unparalleled in terms of comfort. Alex Megos' shoes of choice, nonetheless. The Iati is the performance all-rounder of Tenaya's range, built with precision, strength, and balance for everything from sport climbing on tiny edges, bouldering on low friction rock, to endurance pitches on multi-pitch routes. Tenaya's moving-tightening SXRDynamics and dynamic-response RB RangeX technologies work with the foot's biomechanics, producing a climbing shoe that uses every resource available in your foot. The signature Draxtor Lacing system is infinitely adjustable and is one of the fastest, most efficient, and precise closure systems available. As for fit, the Iati features a microfibre / leather upper for the best balance of comfort and long-term performance. We recommend sizing a half size to a full size down from your regular climbing shoe size to find the best fit for you. Bear in mind there will be some stretch in the Iati.
For the climber who seeks all-round performance on the basis of "high-performance without the pain", the Iati is built on strength, precision, and stability without the painful discomfort, for climbers of all disciplines.

Vibram XS Grip™
Original rubber compound built for pure friction, recommended for use where maximum grip is the primary need - bouldering and sport climbing, indoor climbing, or extremely smooth, polished routes.
Tenaya's movement-adjustment system that focuses power towards the big toe. This system is unlike any other found on a climbing shoe. It actively adjusts power based on the foot's position for smart precision on the smallest of features which prevents the rand from bulging out, which can knock you off balance. This means you have more control, more balance, and more power, on every foothold.
DRAXTOR® LACING SYSTEM
A highly precise, fast, and efficient lacing system. The webbing can be adjusted to the length to fit your foot's unique morphology, so every time you velcro up you'll have the same custom fit.

Technical yet comfortable. Recommended
Have been climbing with this shoe for a little over a month now.
Even out of the box they felt great, the heal was spot on to fit my feet and they have felt confortable ever since.
They felt really secure in everything I've thrown at them.
With a little over a month of use the rubber is already worn out which is a bit of a bummer but acceptable.
What I really was not happy with is that the rubber soles seem to be delamitating which i don't find acceptable.
The iati is an amazing sport climbing shoe, I found it worked best when on overhanging routes with small footholds due to it being very sensitive even tho it is supposeidly a somewhat stiff shoe. The break-in time for the shoe was almost instant and felt like a sock. I'm a UK size 8 street shoe and went for a UK size 6 iati and found the fit perfect, not too tight as to crush my toes, but enough to push through pressure on the tip of the shoe. The heal is the major selling point for me as it fits perfectly and once you wack the heal on any hold its not coming off!! I have a slightly narrow heal but due to the lacing system on the iati I could adjust the fit of the shoe to tighten the heal and loosen the front, so a very adjustable shoe for your needs.
Can't recommend this shoe enough, especially for people aiming to push their technical sport climbing!
Great smearing, bomber heel hooking, sensitive and aggressive. These are by far the most comfortable shoes I ever wore as performance shoes, they feel like a thick sock, not at all like a climbing shoe. A bit stiffer than the Oasi, therefore better for face climbing. Mine did not have any manufacturing problems like the other reviews. My feet are not particularly wide or narrow, and are a bit incurved. I wear street size 45 and got 42. Could have gone 42.5 for a more comfortable fit, but I never ever wanted to take them off at the chains.
Just bought my second pair of these shoes. They fit my wide feet perfectly. They are a bit hard to get on my feet the first couple of weeks but a bit of plastic (like from a plastic bag) behind the heel makes it easier.
The only bad thing is that the small rubber flap on the top part of the heel seems to break pretty easy but that's mostly cosmetics.
