Dark Matter Rubber
Originally formulated for the United States Navy Seals to ensure security in foot placement during approaches, Dark Matter rubber is now being implemented in So iLL’s climbing shoes for a level of grip worthy of the most advanced and harshest terrains in the world. The Runner features all-blue "Dark Matter" rubber, a member of the "UnParallel Rubber" family, a sticky colored outsole rubber and the first ever of it’s kind.
The Street is fully sealed in a formidable matte black finish and equipped with a thin padded tongue. The larger buckles give the tightening system power and sensitivity to mold the soft shoe perfectly to your foot.

After 3 months of use, 4 times a week, only in the gym, let’s review the Street. First, they are really sticky and comfortable ( +1 street shoe size for a snug fit). Secondly the rubber doesn’t last. Completely destroyed. I will give them to the cobbler and resole with C4 rubber and use them as training shoes. They also lost quite a bit of their downturn. Finally, I would recommend to a friend but cautiously. Not in the same league as Scarpa or La Sportiva.
After developing heal pain (burstis / haglands) from Scarpa Arpia & Instincts I've been trying shoes from (what feels like!) hundreds of manufacturers; focusing on trying to find something with a wide toe box with a comfortable heal. 5.10 Moccasyms and Anasazis were hell for this!
Finally tried these and can comfortably wear them for 3/4 hours indoors with no heal pain. The rubber is really sticky and after 6 sessions at the gym its holding up well. The the edge isn't quite as precise as the instincts but its more than enough for v4/5 edging.
All in all I love these, comfortable and they don't feel like a drop in performance. Will look at downsizing another half size with next pair!
I tried so ill after i had scarpa, red chilli, ocun, la sportiva and directly compared it with my first pair of five tens. I have to say that their rubber is f**kin awesome. At indoor walls you have a massive grip on slopes, that great that i feared my foot will stay on if i fall ;)
ok, that sounds a bit too much but it was really a big difference for me. I had the street and the five ten new at the same time and i have to say the rubber of the so ill is way more grippy.
But there is always a downside. So the rubber on the toepatch is very thin, nice that you got extrem good feeling but it wears throu very quickly... :(
as i said i compared it with a five ten, which is def thicker and don't get me wrong it is also a very nice shoe(hi angle) i still wear it. because the so ill had some holes after a bit more of half a year(i boulder 3 to 4 times a week, mostly around 6a to 7a)...
So to the street shoe (not only the rubber): i took my street shoe size or half down (depends what normal shoe comp. it is) and it fitted perfect. the toe section especally.
But the heel part sometimes slipt sligtly so i lost my heelhook, but i wear thin socks so if you dont, i think this wouldn't be a problem.
after all this is a great shoe for your regular bouldering sessions but only if you got the mony to get it twice a year...
I think so ill should make it better, with a bit more rubber at the front(thicker) and something to keep the downturn for longer, that was another thing i recognized...
But still a great product with that wow, wtf feeling ;)))
Very nice shoe to climb but I recommend to get 2 sizes bigger number than your street size!!!
I wear street shoes 42 a bought plus half size bigger. But next i will buy the same size like street shoes. The same sizing like me fiveten dragon.
They are very comfort with great feeling.i love their soft sole. Perfect rubber for limestone.
