Scarpa Vapor V Women's Climbing Shoe

The Scarpa Vapor V Women's is an all-round performance, ladies-specific climbing shoe designed to break conventions and be a "performance shoe with instant comfort". Designed by Heinz Mariacher, the man behind many of La Sportiva's classics like the Katana, Miura, and Mythos, the Vapor V's focus on performance without the sacrifice of comfort is purpose-built for beginner climbers seeking an entry into the world of performance climbing shoes or the further advanced who require all-day comfort in a soft, technical shoe. The women's version has a lower volume fit more ideal for the female foot.

Scarpa have achieved this performance comfort in a few main ways. The Bi-Tension rand does the opposite of a slingshot rand: rather than painfully jam the toes forward, the rand connects beneath the toes and pulls backwards to the heel structure to decrease tension, providing the same amount of precision but with less toe pain. The inner is soft suede leather with an almost luxurious feel to it, and the tongue is perforated to enhance breathability.

As for design, the Vapor V Women's is on the technical side of performance all-rounders. Its soft midsole, toe rubber, and stepped heel cup provide performance on technical boulder problems and overhanging terrain, but the firm Vibram XS Edge rubber maintains stability on edges. The inner is lined suede leather, so expect it to stretch up to a half size.

Key Updates:
*New heal construction made from microfibre reduces weight and also enhances the next to skin comfort in the Achilles
*New heal rand provides a more stable and higher friction for tenuous powerfull heal hooks
*New toe rand that protects your feel whilst toe hooking
*New tongue construction which is lighter, more breathable and will also retain its shape and positioning.

Vapor V Women's Climbing Shoe

Vibram XS Edge™

Rubber compound built for maximum performance on micro holds and extreme edging. This formula uses an improved plastic deformation resistance that ensures the utmost stability, rigidity, and support on footholds in hot or cold weather, as well as generally increasing durability.

Vapor V Women's Climbing Shoe

Bi-Tension Rand™

A rand that that pulls power from the toes to achieve performance with less tension and less painful toe cramming. The Bi-Tension Rand also reduces the amount of rubber needed under the toes, which means a lower weight and a higher sensitivity.

Not suitable for wide foot

As the title, it is not quite suitable for wide foot. I have the other same size of shoe from la sporativa Testarossa, although their length are the same but the width for this one is too narrow for me, which I can't even get into it. Therefore, I returned it. However, if you don't have the wide foot like me, I think this would be a good pair of climbing shoe, as some of as my climbing friends they really recommend it. My normal size of shoe is 36.5-37, I ordered 36.5 for this one (Can't get into it). My size for la sportiva Testarossa & Python is 36.5.

Great fit for narrow heels

This shoe is perfect for people who have a narrower heel. Great fit overall, with good tough heel rubber and sticky front sole rubber.

Perfect for weird shaped feet like me

These are really good climbing shoes. I use them especially for bouldering as I ordered them a little too small. Next time I will take them half a size bigger and they will be perfect! I wish they would propose them in lace as well.

Just bought the third pair. Beside excellent climbing performance, it is a very durable shoe. I have replaced the sole of my first pair for maybe ten times in four years, but the shoe itself is still intact. The size went from 37 to 38 though, but I can still use them for overhangs :)

I have odd shaped feet, and these are the only shoes I've found in 5 years of searching that actually fit me. At first these felt a bit clunky and the heels didn't feel too secure - but when I'm actually climbing, they feel really precise; secure on smears and the heels are better than I thought they would be. I think they might be better with 3 straps instead of 2. Now I'm just hoping that they won't be discontinued...
