Scarpa Instinct VS Women's Climbing Shoe

At last, the Instinct VS Women's introduces a version of the Instinct for climbers with low-volume feet. All of the features are the same as the classic Instinct VS apart from the narrower heel lower volume toe-box. Finally, climbers with low-volume feet have access to a shoe in the Instinct family.

The Instinct VS Women's sits somewhere in between the Instinct Lace and Instinct SR models to create a versatile and technical shoe that excels at all types of climbing. Both sensitive and comfortable, supportive and flexible, it's a great all-round performer.

Vibram XS Grip rubber provides maximum edging support on the smallest of footholds as well as being highly durable. The Bi-Tension rand not only focuses the shoe's power through the toes but also ensures it maintains its performance shape over its lifespan.

A fantastic shoe for intermediate to advanced climbers.

Great fit

It is an amazing pair of shoes, I love its performance on tiny holds, toe hooks, and heel hooks as well. I have bought an EU 35.5, my street shoe size is 36.5, and after one and a half months of using it, the first climb of the session is still painful, but the rubber softens and it is pretty comfortable now, compared to how it was before. At first, I could not even put it on without a plastic bag, but it had loosened a lot. I still have to take it off after a few boulders, but while I climb it is very comfortable.

Great choice for all-round bouldering

Indoor bouldering, owned a pair of Scarpa Vapor Vs which I wore out (have resoled before). Was looking to upgrade, and after trying on a few shoes, I felt the Instinct was the right fit. I had the normal (not low volume) EU 40 Vapors before which were snug, so I didn't size down on these - after breaking in, these are still tight but would recommend sizing down 0.5-1 size if you really want to get performance out of them. The difference in rubber from Edge to Grip took some time to get used to (normal volume used Edge) Personal preference ultimately, but I like the greater security I feel now with smearing ability, but don't lose all the power. Also excellent toe-hooking and heel-hooking abilities. Definitely try the shoe first - the heel can be roomier if you don't get the right fit. Great shoe for bouldering, would recommend!

Grippy and precise

Great performance shoes, but shine in particular on toe hooks, which were nearly impossible in Miuras, and standing on volumes. I've only had them for a couple of weeks and they still hurt, but it's totally bearable and I can keep them on for several attempts. I got them in 37, which is the same size as my street shoes. For reference, I had La Sportiva's Miura VS in 36 and Miura Lace in 35.5 (these never really got comfortable). I might get the Instinct in 37.5 next time, but who knows, maybe these will stretch a bit more.
