La Sportiva Cobra Climbing Shoe

The La Sportiva Cobra climbing shoe is a highly sensitive downturned slipper designed for gym and bouldering performance with the comfort of an unlined shoe. Looking at the Cobra, it's a really good value climbing shoe with no unnecessary technical features and just the fundamentalist design. A great shoe for gym boulderers in need of a highly flexible and soft shoe that isn't too uncomfortable or painful.

The Cobra uses the softer Vibram XS Grip 2 compound designed for maximum friction, and the sole is only 3.5mm thick. This high level of grip and sensitivity will perform extremely well on steep and overhanging routes with microholds, and the absence of laces and technical features should make the shoe incredibly supple. Although, this shoe is still meant to be really comfortable. One reviewer said that he wore it whilst multipitch climbing!

Being a slipper, the Cobra should be fitted on the snug side. But bear in mind that the unlined suede leather will stretch up to a full size! So remember to size appropriately, and don't be worried by the break-in period. It will be worth it!

Cobra

Technical shoes with a precise point. even when big, they allow good foot placement. Though they arenot made for slab climbing so do not expect adherence from them. tiny edge or micro pockets: that's their job.
quick to take on and off, they offer good value for the intermediate climber.

Excelent

Just received and experimented them! Great precision, really comfortable. My best climbing shoes ever.
Thanks epictvshop for your excelent work

La Sportiva's all rounder.

I love this shoes. I have had 3 pairs of cobras so far and, in my opinion, they are unbeatable. Great for long training sessions, long multipitch routes, sport, trad, boulder, when you dont want to bother with laces, good for going around doing circuits in la forêt... easy on, easy off. I wear these in the same size of my testarosas and halfsize larger than my solutions but when you get them you should be aware that they stretch quite a bit due to the large leather surface (I think). Even if you get them as a comfy shoe, I would recommend a tad of pain so when you break them in after a few sessions, they are just perfect!

Also they now come in other colors, which is cool and stylish!

Good all round bouldering shoe

I wear a street sixe 4.5-5 UK and in these i wear 3.5 ( same as Miuras ).

Find that Sportiva run bigger then fiveten or scarpa. Great all round shoe, nice edges, easy slip on and look stylish too. Better heel hook than toe hooks due to lack of rubber along the toe box area. 7/10 for me. :)

great shoes

I went two sizes down and they fit perfectly, especially on the heels. If you want a really snug fit you can go even 3 sizes down. I only wore them to the gym and they are great for both lead and bouldering. I reccomend you wipe their rubber part with a damp cloth so that you will get the best performance and as much use of them as you possibly can. Worth every penny
