Five Ten Asym VCS Men's Climbing Shoe
The Five Ten Asym VCS Men's Climbing Shoe is a great shoe for beginners seeking performance or advanced climbers seeking comfort. Five Ten have taken a comfortable beginner's shoe, tweaked it slightly, and stuck Stealth C4 rubber on the sole to create a shoe that's highly versatile and designed to perform on sport climbs, trad climbs, multi-pitch climbs, and bouldering routes.
Moderate downturn improves the Asym VCS' precision and sensitivity whilst retaining enough comfort to be worn all day. The medium-stiff midsole edges as well as its smears to provide an even balance of support and sensitivity. To provide the best possible comfort, the unlined leather upper will stretch up to a full size to give you a custom fit.

Stealth® C4™ Rubber
A high-friction rubber used on the majority of Five Ten’s shoes due of its all-round performance and versatility. Five Ten first debuted this rubber on the original approach shoe, the Five Tennie, in 1985, and since then Stealth rubber has always been developed by Five Ten themselves in direct conjunction with their shoes, unlike other shoe manufacturers who outsource their rubber. The result is a rubber that works with your shoe harmoniously.
Got these as my first climbing shoes and I really enjoy them. Thought I got them too small but after four or five climbing sessions they began to break in and now they fit almost perfectly. Obviously any shoe is going to be better than rental shoes but these are amazing.
Shoes are great for sport climbing and bouldering, and perform well on the rock too; rubber is good for edging and the stiff sole provides enough support for power deliverance through the toe. Only "downside" is the sizing - for Adidas shoes, I wear size 43 1/3, and bought the 42 2/3 VCS - the shoe streches out, but not up to a full size, would recommend going 1/3 size down for bouldering and street shoe size if the intended use includes prolonged wear.
Great shoe, perfect for bouldering and sports climbing. Make sure to go your street size for this bad boy, they are tight if you go any smaller! The toes feel very secure on small holds, love that for me
