I have just bought this helmet for the third time in 4 years and that should tell you two things: this helmet does not last long but also has a lot to offer.
The fit is perfect, really comfortable and sits around the head rather than on top (good protection for the back of the head). It is 28 grams heavier than the lightest helmet on the market so still extremely light, adding to the wearers comfort. The straps are easy to adjust and very comfortable when properly adjusted. Also there is as much ventilation as anyone can possibly need, great in summer and in winter I wear a thin beanie under the helmet. The headlamp clips are fine, I never broke one and they work.
Now for the cons: This helmet dings extremely easily and it will look rugged pretty fast. While the dings are just cosmetic it is an indication of the helmets resilience. I once had my backpack with the helmet inside tumble down a hill for about 10m, the helmet was broken in three places. Then again: according to BD it is not supposed to be carried inside a backpack. Also another time it was accidently packed between some other stuff in the boot of a car and it also broke.
Concluding: the helmet is excellent, but not at all durable and also quite expensive.
good fit, light, covers down the back of head. very comfortable
it has simultaneously light weight and safety.Fits very well and protect the lower and side part of head.I tried the helmet in long routes trad climbing and sport and feel freedom i almost forgot that have helmet!
On the other hand inside chimneys need to be careful because it is sensitive with scratches. But this is minor..
Good quality product from BD, very happy with my purchase!
The helmet is very light and does its job very well. Worth the the money !
