Petzl Vasak Flexlock
The Petzl Vasak FLEXLOCK Crampons are a reduced weight, 12-point crampon for everything from glacier travel to snow couloirs. The Petzl Vasak FLEXLOCK Crampons feature a thinner frame to reduce weight, as well as an ANTISNOW system that limits the build up of snow. Designed to fit all types of mountaineering boots, with or without front welts.
FlexLock Binding System
The Petzl FlexLock binding system is intended for use with any kind of flexible to semi-rigid mountaineering boots - even ones with no heel or toe welts. This system is ideal for glacier walking and mellow snow routes.
Petzl’s New Modular Crampons
Petzl’s reworked crampons feature a brand new modular design, meaning you can switch the front sections for front sections of other Petzl crampons. Now you can have just one pair of crampons for everything, all you need to do is change the front sections, which saves plenty of pennies and means you can walk, climb and dry-tool in total confidence. Models with this system include the Vasak, Dartwin, Dart, Lynx and Irvis.
Limits the build up of snow to keep your boots nice and dry.

The Petzl Vasak crampon has been designed for classical mountaineering so is ideal for glacier travel and easy alpine routes. It has been constructed with a thinner steel than previous models which while retaining its strength, helps in terms of weight saving. The new binding is the same as that on Petzl's Lynx crampon with more flex at the front. The real benefit with buying a Vasak from Petzl rather than a comparable model from other brands is that the front of the crampon can be switched with the front section from any of Petzl's other models. This means that you can have the perfect crampon for a variety of different disciplines without having to buy lots of different full crampon sets.
