Petzl Nitro 3 Screamer

The Petzl Nitro 3 is a quickdraw-sling that reduces the impact force on protection in the event of a severe fall; an additional safety measure on dubious protection when climbing ice or rock.

In the event of a severe fall (absorber deploys at 2.5 kN), the Petzl Nitro 3 will systematically tear its stitching, absorbing part of the fall’s energy and significantly reducing the force exerted upon your protection to reduce the risk of gear failing. This is a one-use only device designed as an extra failsafe in unpredictable situations where a fall could seriously injure the climber; a way to add extra protection when your standard protection measures might not cut it.
