Mountain Hardwear Desna Grid Jacket
The Desna Grid Jacket is a super versatile stretch fleece from Mountain Hardwear, which is great for layering-up or wearing on its own in mild weather. It doesn't have a hood like the Desna Grid Hooded Jacket and, as a consequence, is much easier to layer comfortably. As one of Mountain Hardwear's most popular designs, it remains pretty much unchanged from 2015, keeping the super-efficient Polartec Power Grid construction, which features a gridded pattern for added breathability, packability and warmth. The men’s model also has Hardface fleece panels in the arms and shoulders for added wind resistance and durability where it counts. Other features include an active cut for freedom of movement, thumb holes, elasticated cuffs, two zippered hand pockets and a zippered chest pocket - the perfect mid or top layer for any activity, be it autumn bouldering, ski touring or alpine climbing.

Polartec Power Grid
Formerly known as Power Dry High Efficiency, Polartec Power Grid fleece pushes the limits of Power Dry by using a patented grid structure to create super-warm, breathable and moisture-wicking base and mid-layers that are lighter, less bulky and more compressible. The grid structure increases the thermal properties of the fabric by creating channels that are always in contact with your skin or base-layer, so can efficiently disperse and redistribute moisture build-up quicker than any other fabric.
Hardface technology was developed by Polartec and is a means of fusing a special polymer to the outer layer of fleece fabric. This makes the surface of the fleece smooth and abrasion-resistant, as well as massively improving the water and wind-resistant properties of the fleece, while allowing the levels of stretch and breathability to stay the same.
