Mammut Foraker Hybrid Light
Mammut’s Foraker Hybrid Light Jacket is an active jacket for active people; it’s stretchy, lightweight and packable, made from a combination of elasticated Pertex Microlight with Polartec Alpha insulation. The Foraker Hybrid Light also features raglan sleeves for extra comfort, Lycra hand gaiters, a zippered chest pocket and two zippered hand pockets, one of which doubles as a stuff sack for simple transportation.
Pertex Microlight is a super lightweight nylon fabric that is downproof, windproof and abrasion resistant. It also provides some water resistance and breathability, although its main function is to provide lightweight packability which is why it is often used to make light, insulating jackets.
Polartec Alpha is a military standard form of insulation, which is designed to be worn throughout any kind of stop-start activity so you don’t need to constantly adjust your layers. It works by sandwiching a layer of high loft, low density fibres between layers of air permeable, woven polyester, and allows air and water vapour to constantly move freely between you and the air outside. This means it dries really quickly and has great temperature regulation properties, while being water resistant, lightweight and highly compressible.
